The new residential building is located in Gudo, in the Canton of Ticino. The structure consists of 28 apartments, including 3 ½-room and 2 ½-room units, distributed over 4 levels, including the ground floor. The complex also includes a basement with a shelter, cellars, technical rooms, laundries, and an underground garage with 39 parking spaces, including a motorcycle area.
The building features a ground floor divided into open corridors aimed at ensuring permeability to the area. It is symmetrical with respect to the central N-S axis where the staircase and elevator shaft are located. The building’s position, external arrangement, and internal space articulation have been defined with the primary objective of completely eliminating any architectural barriers.
The design of the apartments primarily focuses on orientation. The living areas are oriented to the south with corresponding large openings and terraces. Only some apartments have north-facing views, but they are also equipped with ample terraces and openings to ensure the necessary illumination.
Internal circulation between the apartments occurs through a distribution corridor starting from the staircase and elevator shaft located in the center of the building.
